Hartford needs a plan to help shape the future of the City.
There need to be goals set and strategies implemented that all Hartford stakeholders understand and, ideally, support. Most importantly, the plan needs to be based on the City’s current realities.
Very few understand the City’s current financial reality despite persistent budget challenges. Over the past few years, leaders have made cuts across the board to close the annual deficit, yet projections for the future still show expenses growing faster than revenue.
This is my public exploration of Hartford’s finances to try to understand the City’s realities. These are my notes, calculations and thoughts. Join my journey with comments and suggestions.
